"You and Jug," Audrey said, looking up at Carl with a cocked smile and a shake of her head as she let him in the room, "saving shit until the last possible second." As if she hadn't saved a few things for the last possible second too, but it was mostly Betty and Jughead's gifts. Now that they'd been exiled to their respective rooms - Jughead to finish his own wrapping and Betty to work on something or other with Vince - she could finally dig the packages out from under the bed and get them done up. Which was why her fingers were stained blue again from the tips down to the second knuckle. Just food coloring, it would scrub off with some dish soap. But she had to dye and dry another round of the swirly marbled paper she'd been using to wrap everyone's gifts in.
She cleared a spot for him at the long table and moved a stack of boxes from the extra chair onto the shelf, then nodded for him to come on it. Usually, everyone just camped out on the bed, but this required a little more of a solid workspace. "Bring your stuff over here," she said, "You want something to drink? I need to get another cup and I can just put a pot on. Or I think we have water around here somewhere." Audrey shuffled around, tossing socks in laundry bags and scooting shoes into a neat line while she dug around for something for Carl to use as wrapping paper on the way to the coffee maker. How her room became the hub of Creeps social whatever, she still didn't know, but hey, at least it still had Regina's ward on the doorway.
