Notes: For this.
It had been a long time since Graverobber had seen a proper Christmas. Snow, sure, some of that still got through from time to time on the island, but the lights and trees and over-saturated colors... There was more than a bit of whimsy in that and he did love whimsy. He could do without the over-commercialization of the holiday, but that was less his usual punk philosophies and more something that sat a little deeper inside of him. The inescapable Self, maybe. Maybe not. He wasn't bothered by the thought enough to dwell on it, though. He cocoa in one hand and a rather warm cup of blood in the other and the combined smell was weird and strangely complementary. The best part about being a night owl was that he got to meet the most interesting people and see the most interesting things and his increasingly frequent meetings with Jessica was just the highlight of that particular reel. Besides, he wanted to do something special for her. Something that didn't involve gift-giving or anything material. A stroll in what amounted for woods in Central Park, the city lights, and the fresh snow felt about perfect for that. And so he waited. The cups kept his hands warm - though sleeping outside had acclimated him to the cold years ago - and the steady sway back and forth from heel to toe kept him occupied as he whistled low and idly to himself. He had it all mapped out. But like all good things, plans could be shaken up at any moment. Maybe there were still some rogue magical ducks in the park. Who knew? |
