Being back in New York was something she had dreamed about, but didn't think would actually happen so soon. This wasn't quite New York though, it was a really good imitation, but she knew better. It was a welcome respite since the last couple of days had been just really weird. Living her life as a character in a book had been off putting to say the least. The fact that it ended in her death was even more so. Crushed by a giant chandelier. Good grief.
Carol had been spending most of her time with Han, Jessica and Matt. Just kind of hanging out and doing whatever. Being back here but not having any life or death situations hanging in the balance was probably the weirdest of all. This wasn't home. None of her friends from home were here. The ones that hadn't been pulled into the experiment anyway. Still she walked the streets and ate too much pizza and tried to carry on as best as she could.
Heading into the park, she noticed a familiar face sitting on the bench. She wasn't quite sure how Kamala would treat her, considering that she had pissed off (at best) everyone else that she cared about. It wouldn't surprise her to find that Kamala was among those people. Apparently she was going to do some awful stuff in the future, and she had no idea if that kind of thing happened in Kamala's world or not. Still she decided to at least go say hello.
