Who: Firmin Richard, Armand Moncharmand & the patrons of the opera [Predominantly Upper / Middle class + Theatre] What: A retirement gala for the Opera's previous manager, Linton Heathcliff When: 5 pm Nov 3rd Where: The Theatre's Grand Lobby Status: IC/OOC Tonight the Art world mourns the loss of a great manager to retirement in Bucharest and celebrates the new direction of the Opera's new management. With salon performances of a variety of current and former theatre performers, singers, and dancers, guests can expect a lively time at this black tie gala. An hour after the matinee performance, opera patrons, their guests, and society darlings can begin arriving to socialize prior to the matinee performance, and are given two hours to partake in hors d'oeuvres and champagne in the grand lobby. Tagliatelle of vegetables in an orange dressing Greek salad à la verrine Quail eggs with caviar roe Veuve cliquot champagne Afterwards a dinner will be served with toasts highlighting Heathcliff and an announcement of the Opera's forward season, commencing with Gounod's Faust: Salad: Arugula salad with roasted red peppers & shaved locatelli and a champagne vinagrette Entree: Petit Filet Tenderloin with a bleu cheese crust & bordelaise sauce (Cabernet Sauvignon) Desert: Italian Lemon Cornmeal Cake with Limoncello Glaze (Blueberry Moscato) Afterwards, dancing and performances will commence running until people leave. The event is white tie and decidedly formal, though this is mostly enforced to keep the wrong element out. Money covers any number of sins. Of course, if you have donations to support the arts as well, no one is turning them away. |
