Sam didn't see any of the changes to her gaze or her face as he retreated to lean against the wall behind her, a more relaxed stance than he could've taken mere moments ago - as if the magic in the room was already working on him.
He returned her smile, watching as the spark from her wrists took hold of the mixture. The blue flame was sort of mesmerising until she spoke again. He smiled at her again, nodded and moved over to the stove to retrieve the water. He brought it back over to her and handed it to her carefully, finding himself almost looking forward to seeing what would happen next.
