He interfered she wanted to snap back, I warned him. Except this was supposed to be where she patched things up, tried to move forward. Focus on the apology. Don't blame Rogue's friend for getting himself killed when she held the sword that had done it. It didn't help that the eerie shadows that stretched across the walls made her uneasy, on edge. She watched Rogue pack up the blanket, then went about inspecting the rest of the shelves for anything she might have missed.
"I didn't mean..." Mimi kneeled down, running her finger through the thick layer of dust, trying not to put too much thought into what anything could indicate. This was a manufactured environment. Looking for clues to ways out was pointless when the entire scenario was structured around them killing each other. No other escape options would work, the windows were either false hope or led to somewhere worse. The dead zombie (was that redundant?) halfway hanging through one was definitely an indicator of that. "It's not what was supposed to happen. I just fell back into old habits. Stealing for survival." She scribbled a small heart in the dust, and then smudged it out in irritation, standing quickly.
"He had no way of knowing I wasn't going to harm Darcy. I had no way of knowing whether or not he was going to harm me. He tried to protect somebody. I tried to protect myself. I know it was wrong, but I can't go back and fix it. All I can do now is protect you and Wanda, and if somebody comes after either of you..." she approached slowly, her eyes narrowed. "I'll kill them too." It was a rather strong vow to make to a woman she barely knew, one who probably didn't share the sentiment, but she meant it. She never betrayed her loyalties. And having more than herself to live for was the only thing carrying her through.
