Sam wasn't sure how long he ran for after the cornucopia. His mind kept replaying the image of Jo crumbling to the ground over and over and he ran until his muscles burned just so he had something else to focus on besides Jo. He'd taken off down one of the tunnels to the south west though he had no idea where it led. After he was sure he was far enough and he hadn't encountered anyone, he stopped to inspect the box he'd picked up. He was surprised to find it wasn't a complete disaster. Inside he found an assortment of lures, bobbers and sinkers, a couple of fish hooks and some fishing line. His father may not have engaged in the usual father/son bonding of taking his boys fishing, but thank god for Bobby Singer. Sam could definitely work with this.
After a quick swig from his flask to make sure it was drinkable, and once he was satisfied that it was he stowed the rest for later, he thought he should probably move off - it wasn't tactical to stay in one place for too long unless it was defenceable. Just as he started off he hear a noise from somewhere behind him in the tunnel. A woman's voice, Sam found it hard to say if she sounded as if she was in trouble or not. It just wasn't in him to ignore a potential cry for help, even if his own survival instinct practically screamed at him to keep going the other way. Quietly and cautiously Sam made his way back towards the sound, keeping his back to the wall as much as possible in case anyone did try to attack him.
As he rounded a bend in the tunnel he caught sight of the presumed source of the sound- her hands looked pretty cut up and she seemed to be trying to move the rocks away from the cave wall. Sam couldn't tell if she was done or just resting but either way he spoke up. "Uh hey." He said in a sort of hushed voice, not wanting to startle or draw too much attention if anyone else was around. "Are you alright? Do you need some help?" He made sure he was visible but maintained his distance. He didn't recognise her so had no way of knowing if she was one of the participants that still agreed to the pacifism route or even just someone that wouldn't outright hurt him unless he attacked her. He had no intention of doing that and if she wanted to be left alone he'd leave her, but if she wanted help and he could do something then he would.
