Emma Frost vs Regina Mills
As Emma stumbled backwards Regina gave herself a figurative pat on the back. She had accomplished what she’d set out to do. Her rock had made impact with her opponent’s body, her arm to be exact, and showed how serious she was. Regina hoped that it would deter the other woman from taking the bag that now lay to the side of them. It was the closest one along her path to the tunnel she intended to flee into. Going for any other would require more modifications and frankly Regina was sick of having to modify her plans. So, she was still prepared to kill in order to obtain that supply bag. But if killing could be avoided she wasn’t going to complain.
In the few seconds that it took for Emma to steady herself Regina did the same and observed her opponent. Though the lighting in the cave was dim she could now clearly see the knife which was a problem. A weapon gave her opponent the upper hand but maybe, just maybe, things would play out in her favor for a change.
Unfortunately the odds were not in Regina’s favor. For no sooner had she readied herself in preparation of her opponents next move did Emma quickly lunge forward. She had moved so quickly that Regina hadn’t had a chance to raise her arm in defense. Or move to the side to avoid injury. Which is why her opponent was able to - with the same speed that she lunged - slide the knife beneath her ribs to pierce her heart. And if Regina thought the knife going in was painful, well, the pain she felt as it was wrenched free was even worse. Emma’s words weren’t even registering in her mind the pain was so intense.
The shock of it all had caused her to first drop to her knees and then onto her back. Her hands pressing against the wound despite how futile that action was. No amount of pressure could stop the bleeding. Not to mention the fact that she was beginning to cough up blood. Regina knew that this was the end for her. Henry wasn’t here this time to use her blood to undo what had been done. She wasn’t even the hero this time around. No, she was the villain. Emma had merely been defending herself against someone that she deemed a threat to her survival. She had been doing whatever the hell it took to survive.
As she lay there moments from death her thoughts drifted to those she was leaving behind. Amos. Cosima. Helena. Liv. Her Squad members. But most importantly, Robin. There would be no reunion with the love of her life this time. She would never again experience his gentle touch. The only touch capable of calming the turmoil in her soul. No more nights would be spent wrapped around him. There would be no more nights spent under the stars. He would now be alone. Though, hopefully, he would move on and find another to love. Robin deserved to be happy. So, with Robin’s happiness on her mind, Regina, closed her eyes and succumbed to her injury.
