Re: Waking / Rising in the Tubes
Well, shit. Lucretia knew that the hotel room was just a temporary thing, doubted that they would have been trained and chosen to just sit snug as a bug in a cushy room, but the abruptness of it threw her a bit off kilter. She couldn't see anything, and while she was not usually prone to claustrophobia, the sensation of being closed in definitely arose something inside of her, a need to get out. But no, she was stuck. Without much else to do she examined herself, unbuckling and unbuttoning her clothes until she hit skin, cataloging everything. Goddammit, why hadn't she done any of the climbing exercises?! They had dressed her with the expectation of it, it seemed.
Well, it didn't matter now. She was fairly, if not totally, confident that any harm that came to them would be temporary; what use was an experiment that killed off a significant portion of the population, right? Of course, she wasn't truly a scientist, not in the way that the other members of the IPRE had been, but it seemed like something that Barry would complain about if he were here, watching.
As she had so many times in the last ten years, as the tube began to rise, Lucretia squared her shoulders and thought about her friends to bring her strength.
