I wouldn't want a token position. Nor do I think minority views merit only token representation. I'm arguing the opposite, in fact. If they're to be subject to a law they did not draft or wish for, and then not permitted to weigh in on its interpretation or enforcement in any meaningful way, the end result can only be a tyranny of those who voted for the thing in the first place.
I understand Ms. Prince is concerned that I'll interpret the law differently than she would, and I imagine that's true, at least to some degree. But I think it's essential for everyone that the minority voice be heard and have weight. My point is that she may find other ways to assuage her concerns, to wit: I am still decidedly in the minority.
