Truly, I think it's rotten at its core - as I said when it was first proposed. That hasn't changed. The fact that they've at least seen fit to include punishment and enforcement mechanisms this time around, instead of relying on some vague hope that everyone's best intentions will be enough, feels like a step forward. But it only feels like it - it's a step forward that might as well be off a cliff. Anyone who believes individuals have the right to "to develop their lives, political, economic and cultural, in accordance with their own genius" and values freedom from "discrimination, violence, or harassment" over enforcement of morally salutary conformity is deeply dangerous and perhaps unsalvageable.
But we must be practical, I'm afraid, as ever. I don't want to be left without any hand in things, if this ship launches. We shall have to wait and see what happens.
