A lot of my family traditions come over from England. Which means they were mostly stolen from other cultures, so there's that. I don't know that I really associate anything with being British anymore, besides the fact my Dad used to own Union Jack oven mitts. I guess tradition for me has always just meant family
I guess you don't think a lot about how those little things - languages, recipes, folktales - are important until they're threatened. That must have been very hard for your grandmother, you know? Not too easily pass down the things that were given to her. Like a break in a chain.
