That's generally how I feel on the matter, but I also don't want to be stuck in the position knowing we didn't do everything we could to identify the killer. Hopefully it won't come to that, but we don't know the severity of the situation yet. I definitely agree that any information gathered that way is less reliable, and I have no doubts that there will be plenty of false information going around soon.
The question remains what we do with the list. Would sharing the fact that we have it gain us more trust, get other teams more willing to cooperate with us? Even if not used against any individual, it can still be used strategically. We can't control what any individual in Mike does with the information, either. Even if as a group we decide not to use it, that doesn't prevent any one person from taking personal advantage, and we will still be seen as complicit for keeping it hidden. Perhaps it is most fair to let everyone have a heads up.
