GOALS
JUST THE FACTS
THE INVESTIGATION One character from each block has been given a character from the board game “Clue” to represent, which includes a personalised costume and a weapon. The costumes were also designed by the scientists and can be found HERE (this replaces their scientists costumes). While all specimens are free to try and uncover the mystery, these characters will be given clues which they can share with their block, others, or keep to themselves. They are also the only characters who can move around during the blackouts. They are also responsible for making arrests in the hopes of stopping the murder(s). Assignments are as follows: Prof. Plum: Ian Malcolm Col. Mustard: Amos Burton Mrs. Peacock: Cosima Niehaus Mr. Green: Obadiah Stane Miss Scarlet: Pamela Isley Sharon Carter, the additional specimen from Mike, is considered the lead detective given her specific interest in policing the civic responsibilities of her fellow specimens. Murders will be announced every morning on the wireless. Blackouts Due to the every-present threat of bombings, a full blackout every night is required. For the Renishaw hotel where the guests will be staying, this means that all rooms must be dark by 10pm. Blackouts will not be strictly enforced by the scientists, but civilian ARP wardens will detain characters who break curfew or are using lanterns of flashlights outside after sunset. Holing up from the blackouts in theatres, bars or shops might spare you from the wrath of the ARP, but there is nothing that can be done to stop the selection or “murder” process. OOC INFORMATION A few days into this event, characters will start to disappear. This does not mean that a physical struggle has occurred between the murderer and victim, but evidence may remain at one of the playable locations if characters know where to look. Players will receive a comment in their drop box letting them know that their character has been selected to be bumped off that night. A “murdered” character still has the opinion of posting one backdated post if they so choose. It doesn’t have to be immediate, but this is so you have something to play with while your character is out of commission. We have taken care that no player will be left with no characters to play, though players with a multitude of characters may be hit a little harder, but we’re trying to keep ratios fair. When a character is taken out of play they get a free space on their activity check. Once this plot wraps and the reward stage starts, characters will be restored with no memory of anything that happened after they disappeared. Environment: THE RENISHAW The Renishaw is a luxury residential hotel in Central London that the specimens have found themselves occupying for the duration of this experiment. Placed in double rooms that contain two conjoined bedrooms (general layout), specimens are provided with automatic alibi or, someone to hide from. The rooms are plushly appointed, and contain a wireless radio, and an en suite kitchen which includes small refrigerator, and oven. They also have thick blackout curtains to help comply with the mandatory blackouts that take place every night after sundown. There are 10 rooms per floor and a staircase on both ends. There is also an elevator. However in the middle of the Blitz, it is not always guaranteed this will work. On the Ground Floor of the Hotel are several social areas which can (and are) used for entertainment, business, wartime activities, and staging in emergencies. Including:
London This interactive map shows the locations of bombing during WWII. The Hotel is located on the map approximately where it says “Elephant and Castle”. Specimens are free to explore the top corner of Lambeth, which consists of a small “quarter-pie” shaped section of London: from the Hotel to the Thames river, with the Lambeth and Tower bridges serving as the perimeters. If they cross the bridges, they end up back in their hotel room, and like with the Jungle, is they reach the edge of “bounds” and go beyond it, they end up just entering on the other side. 1,215 bombs were dropped on Lambeth from October of 1940 to June of 1941, and the specimens are arriving at an unspecified time during the height of the air raids. For this reason, there is a strict curfew in place: no one can be outside after sundown. Due to nearly nightly air raids, blackouts must be complete. There are several stations where specimens can trade their ratio coupons for supplies. Specimens can also earn additional coupons by dedicating their time to clearing rubble, helping elderly residents by delivering their rations, and finding other ways to assist. Of course, specimens are also free to rob the elderly or take the ration coupons left behind by their disappeared roommate, if that’s the kind of person they are. The weather is pleasant, with a late-spring, early summer feel. Lows are about 13-16°C (55-60°F) with highs about 25-30°C (75-80°F). There are frequent precipitation, with morning fogs and light rain in the afternoons that can appear out of nowhere. Locations Around London
Food
Children under 16 receive 1 additional egg (or 4 oz of egg powder) and 8 oz extra of cheese and 2 oz extra milk powder. Vegetarians may use their meat and bacon coupons for 8 oz of cheese as well. Fresh fruit and vegetables are unrationed, but imported fruits and vegetables are basically non-existence. But potatoes, cauliflower, carrots, and oatmeal are all readily available and can be cooked into recipes like Lord Woolton's pie!. For bread, National Loaf will hit the spot. Fruit and alcohol, while not rationed, will be difficult (to impossible) to acquire and expensive. Unfortunately, there are not any restaurants in the area which you can explore. :( For more information and a general idea, enjoy this episode of SUPERSIZERS GO! |
