You're probably right - if I could shove it off the galactic stage, I would. I find it troublesome and unpredictable and distasteful. It's possible that's led me to underestimate its effects on the universe at large. In either case, I can't control it. I can't incorporate it into my plans no more than I can the weather. More than that, I think, my most significant quibble with it is this: it seems to me that its practitioners become so engrossed in it, so obsessed with it beyond all rationality, that they forget or outright discard the greater good we strive for. Turning one knight can't be more important than the survival of an empire. Redeeming one lost father - if you will - can't be worth risking the survival of one's cause. To place such petty personal goals above the well-being of the galaxy is starkly immoral, no matter which side it's coming from.
You see? If you just push through the eye-glazing, you get it eventually. That's quite right.
