“Rowan,” she replied easily, hesitation clearly not her strong suit. “I’m not surprised we haven’t met though. I’ve only just come to this kingdom. I hardly know anyone here.” She cast a quick glance around the ballroom, spying the few people she knew from the barracks and a few gentlemen she had danced with earlier. She noted their surprised looks before their attentions pointedly darted elsewhere before turning back to her companion with bright grin.
“I’m afraid you have me at a disadvantage then. I don’t have the pleasure of knowing your name.”
