"It isn't too late to break those habits," he agreed with diner owner. "Not that I disapprove of how you eat," he added. "It's nice to see a girl who actually eats rather than just picking at something."
He nodded in acknowledgment of her quiet worries, hoping that her mom wasn't too freaked out about her disappearing. And and the same time, wishing his mom would react that way. "What do you think she's going to do?" he asked, wondering what it would be like to have a mom like Rory's.
He looked towards the refrigerator, to where Rory was standing with a bowl of chocolate pudding. Her confusion over the disappearance of the phone confirmed the fact that he wasn't hallucinating.
