((ooc: Don't worry about it, seriously. I always say RL comes before RP. I hope everything's alright now! And on that note, I'll probably be fairly slow with tags for the next week-week and half. School is evil))
"I'll try. I guess I've never really thought about how hard it is to explain some of this stuff to people who have zero context for what I'm rambling on about," she said, her words tumbling rapidly. "It's like we're from completely different planets even though we're living in the same country."
"I don't think anybody really did. Or if anybody did nobody else listened to them." Not that much has changed on that not listening front.
"Makes sense. At least you know he somewhere safe," she commented. Her mom had no idea where she was. She was probably freaking out. "A phone would be useful. Assuming it dails out of the land that time forgot yet somehow has every video technology I've ever heard of."
Rory rolled her eyes at John's laughter. "My mom? 90 percent water like most humans... the other 10? Caffeine. Seriously," she insisted, sipping her coffee and smiling, "I share more than my mom's name with her."
She was contemplating another slice of pie herself, or possibly a hunt for something chocolatey when she heard John's excitement over spotting a phone, following his gaze. She couldn't help but look a little weary at the question of it dialing out. The door that should have lead back to Chilton lead to a huge hallway... who knew where that phone would dial to?
"Uh... that seems iffy to me, John, the more I think about it," she said hesitantly, "Nothing about this place falls within the realm of logic, does it?" Food that was always hot, coffee that was always fresh. Nearly everything they could possibly want. Except a way out.
