"Don't worry about it," John told her, "At least you understand why I haven't seen some movies or heard some bands. My classmates just tend to ask if I've been living under a rock."
"I did know that about Doctor Who," John told her. "We're just into the second season here, even though I was in the twelfth season before I moved here. It's actually really frustrating because I want to know what happens in the new episodes, not the ones I've seen a million times."
John was silently grateful for her containment of her opinions on the movie, since he was really curious to see what movies were like in the future. Two hours later, when the credits began rolling, he was both impressed and confused.
He listened to Rory voice some of her thoughts on the movie, still trying to puzzle out parts of the plot he was unclear on. "They really let the president fly a fight jet?" he was extremely unimpressed. "And what is a computer virus?" he asked curiously. He could tell it was a major plot point, and Rory had made a comment on it, but he didn't understand what it was.
"The aliens were pretty cool looking," he added, thinking about the special effects. "And I've never seen explosions look that real, unless they were, you know, real."
"It was pretty good, considering what I've seen, though," he summed up, stretching.
