"Hey, what do you know?" Rory grinned as he stopped covering the accent come through, "You shouldn't hide it, you know? You should be proud of being able to experience different places. Not many people do."
There lives must be so completely different despite both going to private schools. Outside of her grandparents' home, Chilton was probably the fanciest place she'd ever been. She had spent the first few years of her life living in a converted shed at the inn. She hadn't even ventured outside New England yet, and here was this kid who spent what Rory estimated to be at least a third of his life, probably more, in Russia!
"Variety's good," Rory smiled, finally looking for a plate and helping herself to a slice of cherry pie. "Well traveled and so tidy, too. Quite a combo," she said noting that he even rinsed his glass. Most boys she knew wouldn't have even put it by the sink.
"What? It's a completely appropriate reference given the circumstances!" Rory insisted.
"Maybe they went to do something and got lost in he endless corridors?" she couldn't help but smirk, taking a bite of the pie.
