This place was really starting to creep him out, with the severe lack of life within the house. They hadn't seen or heard sign of a person since they arrived.
"I wonder what's outside..." John muttered, approaching the window. Silently he locked out all emotions of fear and worry, walking confidently to the window.
What he saw outside nearly took his breath away. It was an inviting wilderness, trees and bushes shining green in the fading daylight. The sunlight flashed through the trees off what appeared to be a body of water. There were birds chirping and singing, and squirrels running across the grass. It was obvious from their vantage point that they were on an upper floor.
"I guess this answers the question about what floor we're on," John offered, finally finding confirmation of something rather than just more unanswered questions.
