"Yeah Sora, I had a disagreement with Leon okay," he shot at the boy, coming up on their house.
He whipped the front door open, not bothering to close it as Sora was at his heels. The older teen ignored most of what Sora was saying. If he was trying to calm him down it wasn't going to work. Riku was done pretending that everything was going to be alright. He knew it wasn't and he was so sick of playing the part of the wounded best friend. Riku was different. He didn't belong here any more than he belonged on this side of the door to darkness. Riku cared about Sora more than anything else in the universe. He would spill blood, even kill himself to save the younger boy and that's why he was sticking with his decision. He couldn't stay here.
Riku began thrashing about his room, throwing random clothes into a pile on his bed. It wasn't organized and at this point Riku didn't even care what he ended up packing. He really just needed some clean underwear and he would be set.
"If it's killing you so much to worry about me Sora then stop doing it," he advised, wishing the concerned look would wipe itself off of the smaller boy's face.
