There were some things that simply had to be done. She’d put this off for months and at some points she’d thought that she would never want to go back there again. Something snapped inside of her though and it came to mind that she had to go. She couldn’t put it off any longer. She couldn’t pretend like the joke shop didn’t exist when it meant so much to Fred and George. She loved Fred and if they were going to be together then she simply had to go back and deal with the memories associated with it. She had to learn to live with what had happened to her and not just try to forget. The war was over and while a little violence here and there still was going on it was as safe as it probably ever would be.
Following her journal entry, she apparated with a pop right outside of the shop and while her nerves had her feeling weak on her knees she forged on. She turned the handle to the door with a shaky hand passing Verity the shop girl on the way toward the back and toward the stairwell that lead to the flat. It felt so familiar and so strange being back there amongst the twins inventions. A part of it felt like she never wanted to leave. Her mind raced with the concepts of how her kidnappers might have entered it so many months ago. She pictured the destruction they might have left in their wake. She wondered just how much the twins had done to bring it back to its former glory.
She stalled at the stairs unable to go up them on her own. She wanted to turn back and run out of here. Her mind was playing tricks with her and she could almost hear Bellatrix Lestrange's cackling laughter in her head. She could see the faceless, voiceless others and feel their hands doing her harm. She couldn't turn back. Not when she'd come so far on her own though.
"Freddie," she cried out. She needed him and she needed his help.
