Pansy finally answered the door and stepped out into the hall, a good twenty minutes late, which was pretty normal for her. What was not normal for her was this dress, and she, for once, was a little uncertain about it as she turned around a bit, trying to gauge Wayne's approval. Of course she had a backup gown but it wasn't nearly as elegant. And that would take another hour. Her hair was up to show off her bare neck, and she reflexively moved to check for a necklace that wasn't there tonight.
"That's… a much better suit," she said, offering a small smile. "You look nice." And he did. Nice enough to be seen with her, which she'd worried about, though it didn't ease her worries about the one thing she could never fix: his blood. She just hoped Daphne wouldn't be awful about it. And honestly if she'd said no he probably would have hung around all night anyway, so at least this way they both knew she was safe.
That's what she was going to go with, anyway. She was just going to completely disregard how nice it had felt when he'd asked her, and how nice it had felt saying yes.
