Who: Oliver Wood & Penelope Clearwater (Possibly Kyra Bundy) When: Very, very early Sunday Morning Where: Outside Penny's Place What: Oliver is drunk and surprises Penny with a song. Rating: Um. Awesome? Status: In Progress
Oliver had been out drinking all night. All damn night. It seemed like no matter how many drinks he had, his feelings lingered. Try as he might, Oliver couldn't find the comfortable numbness he was longing for. That didn't stop him from trying, however. He did everything in his power to throw back whiskey after whiskey until he was removed from the present.
Somehow that took him from a pub and wandering down the streets of London until he found himself outside Penny's building. He was angry with her for constantly being in his head. Every day he thought about Penny, thought about writing her or the stupid, stupid choice she'd made. But more than anything he thought about how much he wanted to be with her. Just be with her, sitting in her kitchen again and having lunch. Penny made him happy.
It was a shame she thought he was such an idiot.
On unsteady feet, Oliver recalled that Penny said women wanted to be serenaded. In his drunken state, Oliver thought it sounded like a splendid idea. And so, he stood outside her building and began to sing.
"O Flower of Scotland, When will we see Your like again, That fought and died for, Your wee bit Hill and Glen, And stood against him, Proud Edward's Army, And sent him homeward, To think again.
The Hills are bare now, And Autumn leaves lie thick and still, O'er land that is lost now, Which those so dearly held, That stood against him, Proud Edward's Army, And sent him homeward, To think again."
