Emma wasn't exactly fond of moving through a crowd of people she didn't know but she did on occasion at work. She straightened up, avoiding eye contact with the gentleman as she moved through the crowd. She avoided Daphne Greengrass's gaze, aware that Astoria's older sister didn't particularly like her. Or like her at all, really. Plus, the tall gentleman with her was a little overwhelming and she'd prefer to avoid getting stuck in a verbal battle with Daphne that she'd likely never win.
"May I please get a whiskey and a glass of seltzer water?" she asked, giving the bartender a slight smile. She turned around as she waited, eying the guests. This was most certainly not her type of place. Perhaps she should just go home.
"Here you go lovely," the bartender said, winking at her. Her eyes widened slightly and she took the drinks. Really. When had any of this become acceptable. She just nodded and headed back to Astoria, handing her friend a drink. "How's work going?" she asked, taking a small sip of her water.
