"I've never been a fan of normalcy," he said and grinned at her again. Bill slipped an arm around Lavender's waist and escorted her towards the host, following along as they were led to a table by the window, overlooking the ocean. It was approaching summer in this hemisphere and the sun hadn't set yet, despite it being seven in the evening. The sky was full of reds and oranges and it was a gorgeous view as the sun slowly sank into the ocean.
"What did you do today," he asked after pulling Lavender's chair out for her, allowing her to sit and taking his own seat across from her. "Sorry I've been gone so much. Things aren't going as well as we'd hoped."
