Mandy watched them interact, head slightly tilted as she studied them. It was so strange to see him like that. Not that he didn't look perfect but that it could be them in a few months time. She rubbed her temples, knowing she'd have to tell him... somehow. Mandy knew Roger and she knew that he wasn't ready for kids. He wasn't ready for the baby that Lavender lost and she knew for a fact that there was no way he'd be ready for this. It was entirely too soon and that was so unfair to him. She felt like a horrible person. This wasn't right but at the same time? She'd always pictured her life with him. Just, well, kids? Not so soon.
The little girls started talking about Katie and Roger and Marcus and they were listing off stats like little pro's. Mandy just smiled, watching them. Merlin. She was probably pregnant... She should probably stop lying to herself. But she wasn't ready for that yet.
"They're quite a handful," the woman said, running a hand through the little girl's hair. They weren't identical but they favored one another a lot. "Come on, loves," she said, scooting them away. "Leave Mr. Davies alone!" She turned to Roger and smiled. "Thank you so much for talking with them. And thank you for holding Thomas. I really appreciate it."
Mandy just smiled and waved, watching the family of four walk away. She didn't even notice she was chewing on her thumbnail as she watched them, so lost in thought over everything that was about to change.
