It was good to see Roger and Mandy together again, the comfortable way they were with one another and as she took another sip of her drink, Penny smiled. Maybe one day she’d write them into a dorothy novel, the childhood sweethearts who found one another after older boy realises he’d let a good thing slip out of his grasp. Changing their names, the background and some of the details and it could genuinely work. It was certainly worth thinking about.
Mandy looked effortlessly pretty in her outfit and Penny nodded her head. “You look wonderful.” And she really did, there were women going around wearing a lot less and still not looking half as classy as her friend. She always considered it a successful evening when she’d shocked Roger and with his mouth capable of catching flies, she had an inkling that she’d managed to do just that. “Would you prefer me to say them when there aren’t any children around?” As she took in the redhead, Penny snorted. The redhead looked like she wouldn’t say no to anyone, especially if they were famous or they had the right number of galleons.
“Great. You two go off and dance and leave me with the bloke in adult diapers and strange nipples. Lovely.”|
