Purebloods Captured by Terrorist Group
By Eleanor Bledsoe, G.H.B.I.C.M.
Late Sunday evening, the Daily Prophet office received an exclusive photograph and statement from the new extremist terrorist group Wizards Against Purity, claiming responsibility for the kidnappings of Katie Bell, Ginevra Weasley and Oliver Wood, three pureblood citizens.
The photographs, which will not be reprinted due to their graphic nature, depict Bell, Weasley and Wood holding editions of this morning's Daily Prophet, each with bruises on their arms and faces. It is unclear the extent of injuries involved, but each was alive and conscious.
The group's statement reads: "We have taken Katie Bell and Ginny Weasley to ensure that they will be the first of the new generation of mixed-blood mothers. Their children will grow up in a world where purebloods are a dying breed, where no new baby born will know the magical prejudice of the pureblood race, because no new baby will be a pureblood baby.
This is for the betterment of society. This is for the betterment of our world. Drastic measures must be taken."
The statement does not reference Oliver Wood, and it is unclear why the group is holding him. Sources from within the Ministry have speculated that Wood may have been with Bell or Weasley at the time of the kidnappings and was taken to eliminate any witnesses to the crime, though that has yet to be corroborated by the W.A.P. or the Ministry in any official capacity.
The Ministry released no official statements regarding the case, but did assure the Daily Prophet that it has dispatched a specialized Auror unit to investigate the attacks and retrieve the victims safely. Citizens are urged not to panic, but any pureblood citizens, particularly women, are encouraged to travel with escorts and take extra caution until more is known about this group and its members apprehended.
All three kidnapped victims are also prominently involved with Quidditch; Bell is Captain of Puddlemere United, Weasley the Seeker for the Holyhead Harpies, and Wood recently retired from professional playing. It is unclear whether or not their Quidditch involvement had anything to do with the kidnappings, but the National Quidditch League issued a statement earlier:
"We as an organization take the safety of our players very seriously. We are not waiting for a Ministry opinion on this case. Our organizational leaders have been in contact with the League Captains and Owners to ensure no further incidents or attacks take place on our players."

Fleur Delacour is returning to London, much to this dismay of every witch in the city. Freshly-divorced from Bill Weasley, she’s looking for love and doesn’t care where she gets it. Rumors abound as to why the once-happy couple split, but generally the problem seems to rest with Weasley. Because, honestly, who wouldn’t want to wake up next to that every morning? Is Weasley gay? Impotent? Are public threesomes with Lavender Brown and Parvati Patil merely covers for some monstrous deformity (other than the deformations to his face?) Stay tuned. We’ll keep digging. And ladies, watch your husbands.
Bookish Penelope Clearwater was spotted earlier this week entering the Falcons offices in Falmouth late in the evening… and leaving much later. Clearwater has developed quite an unlikely friendship with Marcus Flint as of late. Rumor has it this friendship has grown quite intimate. Has she shifted her attention from Portree’s Captain to one that actually wins games?
And speaking of Portree’s Captain, a party held at Roger Davies’ London residence last week quickly spiraled out of control when he walked in to find best-friend William Bradley and has-been Gavin Chambers taking body shots off of Davies’ current flame Mandy Brocklehurst. We all knew there had to be a bit of bad-girl in Brocklehurst. She is a convicted criminal, after all. The confrontation ended with a broken nose for Chambers, and a steamy shower session for Bradley, Brocklehurst and Davies that ultimately ended in the bedroom.
