Marcus wasn't sure how he was supposed to be reacting to any of this. His entire family, minus Sam, was either dead or gone and he was honestly scared for himself and his friends and Katie at this point. The Ministry had essentially killed both of his brothers so why wouldn't they come after him too? He wanted to see Katie but I seemed safer for her if he distanced them from each other for the time being. He couldn't bare the thought of something bad happening to her because of him.
So instead of mourning or really dealing with much of anything, he'd decided to bury himself in Quidditch. It was proving surprisingly difficult but he was managing. Practice had gone well and he'd has enough time to shower and check in on Sam before heading back to his office to meet Penny. Honestly, he wasn't worried about the upcoming game. Falmouth was practically guaranteed to win, but going over stats and whatnot with Penny seemed like a good distraction from everything else.
When hr heard the knock on the door, he simply gave a quick flick of his wand to open it, letting her in. Or at least he hoped it was Penny. Looking up. He gave her a small and very strained smile. "Thanks for coming. I'm sure you have better things oh could be doing with your time," he said with a small shrug as he organized some of the financial documents he'd been working on.
