What did you say to someone who had lost everyone and whom you weren't quite close enough to be able to pry? For Penny it meant going into Marcus' office, arms filled with folder after folder of her statistics and an up to date projection using the cache of latest data. It had been a long day at work but strangely, there was something relaxing about losing herself in the columns of figures that helped to unwind and ease the tension of the day away.
By now, Penny was familiar with the inner workings of the Falmouth office and she moved through the corridors with ease, not at all put off by the late hour. For her, this was just another meeting with Marcus Flint who had rather oddly, moved from the list of people who annoyed her to those she was protective off. Had anyone asked, she'd have called him a friend and though there were still a lot about him she didn't agree with, he had been honest with her and that had earned her respect. Roger would have a fit if he ever find out that Penny thought the older Slytherin was a friend but even worse if he knew why she was arriving so late to the Falmouth office.
Knocking lightly on the door, she shifted her weight from foot to foot, a menu from the Three Broomsticks amongst the papers in case she got hungry, Penny waited to be let in. She was looking forward to the game this weekend but more importantly, she was looking forward to prove her hypothesis correct.
