Katie took a sip of the pepper-up potion, instantly feeling a bit better. A fine trembled was all that remained and she pulled the blanket tightly around her. Katie hadn't had anyone to talk to about any of this and she felt horrible for dumping it on all on Angelina but she couldn't help it. "I should just be focusing on my game," she murmured, shaking her head. "Caerphily has a new chaser that's supposed to be pretty good and I don't have Ali with me..." She was skipping around topics, she knew, but her mind couldn't focus on any one thing. Her heart hurt and her mind felt frazzled. Everything that was happening was too much. One person couldn't handle all of this but she had to. She had t be strong for her team, her friends, for Marcus, for Sam...
Sighing, Katie gave Ange a wan smile. "I used to have never ending optimism," she murmured. And she had. Katie had the ability to take something and turn it into a good thing. It's what she'd done her whole life. Her attack in school, her mother's death.. but now? Now everything just seemed to be too heavy on her shoulders and she wasn't up for the pressure. She needed to go run. Tomorrow she'd floo to Hogsmeade and go runt he hills around Hogwarts. It'd help her tension.
"I just want to be able to be there for him," she said, thoughts drifting back to Marcus. "But he doesn't want me around and I don't understand why. He's pushing me away and I don't know what to do other than give him some space and I feel like it's just making it worse."
