It was raining and she was soaked. Katie had wandered through her neighborhood after she'd stopped off at Marcus's. She wanted to be sure he'd gone out... to Warrington's, probably. He hadn't answered and she'd waited nearly ten minutes but no one had come to the door. She'd left a note. Nothing dramatic or anything. It was scribbled in her loopy, handwriting. He always made fun of it and complained that it annoyed him. But she'd left it stuck to his door.
I love you. - Katie
After that, she hadn't really thought about what to do. She'd talked to Oliver some but she couldn't talk to him about this. She couldn't really talk to anyone about this. Her friends didn't like her relationship with Marcus and she understood the reasons why. But everything felt so bottled up and it was starting to hurt. She ached. Her chest felt constricted and she'd wandered out of his building and onto the street, stopping at a late night market and grabbed a bottle of whiskey. It wasn't really her thing but it burned as it went down and she needed that right now. She wanted to help. She wanted to be able to be there for him but he didn't want her around. It was selfish of her but she sort of wanted him to want her around. Sighing, she took another sip of the firewhisky, head starting to feel light. Frowning, she looked down, realized half the bottle was gone. Huh.
Soaked through to the bone, Katie didn't even notice the cold wrapping around her. Katie didn't even realize where she was heading until she showed up in front of Ange's building. Glancing at her watch, it was late. Nearly eleven. She'd left for Marcus's around nine. Drunk, sad and not at all in her element, Katie trudged up the stairs, her trainers squeaking and clothes dripping as she went. It was all too much. Everything that had happend in the past few months. Alicia, her father, brother, her sister's new baby, she and Marcus, Marcu's brother... captaining Puddlemere. She just didn't know what to do. She felt lost and alone and she didn't like it. At all.
Katie didn't bother to knock. She turned the knob and walked inside, looking around for Ange as she finished off her bottle of firewhisky. Letting out a belch, she met her friend's gaze. "Hey."
