Harry Potter...
Who: Harry Potter and Lavender Brown
Where: All over.
When: Tuesday evening.
What: A proper date.
Rating/Status: ongoing and private.
Harry hadn't felt this awake since; well, probably ever to be honest with himself. His life was still hectic, and it was filled with uncertainty, and a bit of loneliness. It wasn't as if he felt like he didn't have friends, no he had plenty of them; however, they were so busy with their own lives--which was good for them--he couldn't help but find he missed them all a superb deal. It was odd, because with as much as he worked it wasn't like he'd find too much time to spend with any of them anyway; although, he did wonder if perhaps he would be working as much if they were around more.
It didn't matter though, times were trying and rough; it wasn't like it was their fault, and he had other friends he was making outside of his usual flock. With the likes of Mandy, Katie, Alicia, and Lavender (yes he realized the irony that all his friends were female currently), he had plenty to turn to. He just simply chose not to. They were each going through far more trying times than he was, and he wasn't about to burden them with his own mistakes. Fact is, he'd been making a lot of mistakes lately in trying to do the 'right thing'. The statement, while he still felt it necessary, had been rather too 'war-mongering' in the end of it and he really despised how it came out.
He'd snapped at Roger and actually felt bad for it, but only mildly so. He figured that, while Roger wasn't a fan of his, he and Roger still fought on the same side and that Roger was inherently a good man with flaws--much like Harry--so he couldn't really fault the man for some of the stuff he said and the snapping on him wasn't necessary. Yet he also didn't agree with what he said either, so to each his own.
Never mind that though; now, finally Harry felt human enough to actually attempt romance again. He loved Ginny, and who knew, maybe down the road something could happen between them again; yet, he couldn't help but figure they were going down two separate paths and he was losing that same connection with her he once had--they'd grown apart really. He didn't feel bad for the break up, he felt bad for the way things happened. She wasn't too mad though, and he'd managed lunch with her earlier that day. It was fun, to say the least.
Now, though, he was happy as ever. He finally had a proper date. He'd finally found enough peace of mind to actually figure he wanted to date Lavender, and felt that both of them were separated enough now from their most vulnerable of moments that they could make smart decisions that were both rational and intelligent. As he appeared near her door, he brushed at the black suit jacket he wore; which fell down slimmingly over his body, revealing only the slightest of lighter black, almost grey dress shirt beneath. A black tie fell under the jacket, which was buttoned at the middle. Ironically, Harry still didn't manage to really do anything with his hair, letting it fall where it would--mostly to help cover that scar--and he brushed his glasses up along the bridge of his nose.
Smirking he knocked lightly on her door and waited to begin a proper date.
