Who: Katie and Marcus When: Monday Night/Tuesday Morning Where: Katie's house What: Who knows? They have a life of their own. Rating: Sexing Status: Complete
Katie wasn't sure what had gotten into her. Well, she did. She was frustrated and annoyed that everything between her and Marcus couldn't be just a little bit easier. They were so different and she knew this getting involved with him but sometimes, the way he just went out of the way to be a dick to her friends really did bother her. She understood that it was just how he was but he didn't seem to have a problem being nice. In fact, he did it on regular occasion. He'd stopped in to check on Lavender and he supposedly didn't like her. But, she was sure that he did. Sitting on her sofa, the house was much more quiet without Roger around and she found she kind of missed him. Sighing, Katie's head fell back, that horrible, nervous feeling that was basically a thousand pixies running havoc through her stomach, overwhelmed her. She was pretty sure Marcus was coming over to break up with her. Probably to go back to Lavender because he'd always wanted her and she'd turned him down. Or whatever the hell it was. He'd just settled for Katie.
It might be a little stupid and a little dramatic but most days? That's how she felt. For some reason, seeing Lavender at his party had pulled all that back in. She knew he'd said everyone had been invited but she'd kind of hoped it didn't include her. He'd kept an eye on her throughout the evening as well. Katie saw him do it. It was frustrating to watch because she really didn't know how he felt about her. Did he regret that she wasn't the one he ended up with? Maybe that's what he really wanted. Sighing, she played with the ends of her shirt, waiting for Marcus to show up and dump her. Or whatever. It wasn't like they were officially anything, anyway. This was stupid. She hated fighting with him. She hated saying anything mean to him because half the shite she'd written had just been to hurt him because she felt hurt by him. It was stupid and juvenile and she wanted to take it all back.
She heard the door creak and she jumped to her feet, turning to stare at him. Merlin. She just wanted to throw herself in his arms and beg him to not leave her. She'd been so awful to him that she wasn't so sure she had that right. Opening her mouth, she tried to say something but nothing came out. At all. Not even a small squeak. Standing in a pair of shorts and a tank top, Katie was speechless. Part of her was too proud to beg but the other part? The one that was so in love with him was practically telling her to get on her knees and beg him to forgive her for being so mean and cruel to him. She couldn't move. She was frozen in place as she looked at him but after a few moments, her body began to function again and she was in front of him, pausing only a moment before she threw her arms around his neck in a tight, very tight, hug. "Letting to is not an option," she whispered, so afraid that he'd push her away.
