And Marcus really was happy for Katie. He'd always thought she was a brilliant Chaser. He'd followed Hogwarts' quidditch for a few years after he'd graduated and when Katie hadn't made Captain during her seventh year, he'd been annoyed. He really hadn't cared too much at the time since he hated her and he hated Gryffindor, but he had a healthy respect for anyone who worked hard and was good at the game, and Katie was one of those people. Then again, she had had that whole messy curse thing to deal with. After school, she'd still gone on to be rather brilliant on the pitch. And the fact that she was only ranked below himself spoke volumes. Marcus had been one of the youngest League Captains when he'd gotten the position at 24 and while it probably should have pissed him off that Katie had managed it at 23, he couldn't help but feel proud of her. It was clearly well earned.
He raised a brow when she said that Puddlemere was going to kick Falmouth's arse and he had to stifle a laugh. "Confidence is good. But you might want to keep your goals a bit more attainable than that," he said with a smirk. After all, Falmouth was number one. It was a good fit for the team, really, and Marcus intended to keep them there for the entirety of his Captaincy. "You're more than welcome to try to kick Falmouth's arse if I ever retire, however." Of course, who knew when that would be. Marcus definitely didn't want to have to stop playing ever, but he supposed everyone reached that point somewhere along the line. He just hoped he didn't reach it anytime in the near future.
When Katie traced his lip, he reached up and gently took her hand in his before placing a soft kiss to her palm. It was a terrible thing, really. Marcus just wanted to have his mouth touching her at all times. He'd never felt that way about a girl before. In fact, he usually didn't like his mouth going anywhere near females in any sort of form or fashion. But with Katie, it was just one of the many things about being with her that was so different. He gently laid back down, pulling her down with him as he wrapped both of his arms around her, glad that she wasn't quite as bony as she had been previously. "Dating the Captain of Puddlemere...I don't know how my fans will take that..." he said with a small laugh. This whole turn in life with Bell was so fucking weird.
