Katie stared at her journal, still feeling somewhat in shock at what Marcus had told her. He loved her. She should be happy about it but she really just wished they'd kept all that stuff to themselves. It'd be so much easier to deal with this whole seperation thing if she didn't know that he felt the same way about her as she did about him. Merlin. Her head was pounding. The whole emotional day had taken its toll and Katie just wanted Alicia to show up so she could cry some more and go to sleep. Curling deeper under her blankets, Katie read his words over and over. She could hear him say it in her mind. Somewhat exasperated by the idea that she'd managed to get so deep under his skin but he loved her nonetheless. This was all too much. She wasn't sure how to bear it. At first, Katie had wanted to go to his house and throw her arms around his neck and never let go but that path seemed taken from her. At least for now and she wasn't sure what she was suppsoed to do. Did she wait? If he loved her, well, was he really starting a relationship with Lavender? Maybe she'd assumed wrong. It wouldn't be the first time. Still, it didn't change the fact that there was a baby in the picture and that she had nothing to do with that little mess of a situation.
Sighing, Katie pulled her comforter up around her chin, staring at the wall in front of her. How did her life become so complicated? There was nothing for it, however. She just had to buck up and deal with all of it. It'd be fine. Perfectly easy, really. Except, she didn't know if it would be or not. Katie tried to stay positive. She had to. Whether she wanted to admit it or not, a lot of bad things seemed to happen to her. But, if she gave up hope? How would that really help. No. She was just going to push aside all of this and move on. Nothing was going to come of her and Marcus and, anyway, she had much more important things to deal with. Like the fact that her potions weren't working and her career depended on her finding some sort of cure to get her through the days. Or at least something to manage everything.
It all felt so ridiculously overwhelming and Katie felt like she was seconds from losing it. Well, less than that really because the tears had already started falling. She just hadn't noticed them until she tasted the salty bitterness of defeat on her lips. Merlin. This was just bloody awful. Crying softly, Katie pulled the covers over her head and waited for Alicia to come and tell her she shouldn't be this upset over Marcus Flint. Maybe she'd actually listen this time. Except, well, that seemed doubtful.
