The night was quickly drawing to a close. Dinner had been fantastic, Roger had cooked tonight, the walk on the beach had been relaxing and the night time swim had been really fun. But like all other nights during their vacation, Lavender ended up in the main bedroom of the cottage on her own. She was growing used to it, though she didn't particularly like sleeping on her own, with Roger right in the other room. It was like a mean punishment, though she could understand his hesitance.
Lavender had exhausted herself the past couple of days, keeping herself busy doing everything she could. She's explored the ruins, went sight seeing, swimming and her tan was just epic these days. After a quick shower, Lavender was ready for bed. Dressed in her night clothes, Lavender opened all the windows in her room, leaving only the bug screens down so she wouldn't be eaten alive during the night.
Slipping into her bed, which was really big and lonely, Lavender slipped a pair of headphones onto her stomach. She knew the baby was little more then a mass of weird cells, like Marcus had been so kind to point out the other day, but even still, she wanted the baby to have something soothing to listen to. She had picked out a great selection for the music player she had purchased in the muggle world. A mix of soothing noises, classical music (which someone had told her was great for fetuses to listen to in the womb, it supposedly made them smarter), and Celestina Warbeck and the Weird Sisters (which she had asked someone to figure out how to put on the small music player).
Lavender never claimed to be the smartest witch. And while she had no idea if the mass of cells could hear the music or not, she wanted to start off doing the right things for the baby as early as she could, since nothing else seemed to be going right for them.
