Who: Drew and Mandy When: Friday Night Where: Mandy's Apartment What: Hiding Out
Drinks with Alicia had been a nice break, but it really didn't change anything. He loved her and all, but it had been a distraction. The worse part was that all could really do was distract himself until they were able to wrap up this whole case and get Smythwick in a cell. Of course, when your partner on the case doubted your instincts it was a little hard to just focus on the job. He knew what it looked like. Smythwick was Mandy's father. It looked bad, but he knew what he was doing. He was good at reading people, it's what made him good at what he did. He knew Mandy hadn't known prior and he knew she wasn't playing him. He didn't get that from her, even when he pushed aside his feelings for her and just focused on the job at hand. He just didn't think she was guilty.
It was annoying really, to feel like there was a wedge being driven between him and Geoff. They'd worked well together for years, even with the difficulties of their last case. He gave a frustrated sigh when he reached Mandy's building. He'd come here to get away from his more complicated thoughts and here he was still worrying about it. Pushing thoughts of Geoff and the case aside, he headed upstairs to knock briefly on the door before slipping inside.
Closing the door behind him, he grinned when he spotted her. "So?" he asked, kicking off his shoes, "Am I still not allowed to judge you on your pajamas?"
