To say that Daphne was bored was putting it lightly. She really hadn't wanted to go to this day long charity Quidditch thing at all. But between Pansy and Clint, she knew she wasn't going to get away with not attending. And really, it wasn't so bad. She was used to having to pretend to be happy doing things that she didn't want to do. And faking public appearances? She was a pro at that sort of thing.
She'd been having a mostly good time with Clint but he was big and famous and had other social obligations. And then there was Marcus. And as soon as the two of them both had free time at the same time, Clint was gone. Daphne hadn't seen him in at least an hour, really. But she figured she'd run into him again eventually. So Daphne had taken to mingling to pass the time. Well, not really mingling. She was more walking around and harshly judging people while not talking to them. But that was pretty much the same thing right?
When her boredom was reaching new heights, she decided to head towards the ballroom for the rest of the evening. Pansy was judging people's clothes or something and Daphne was sure she was having a brilliant time doing it. Unfortunately, Daphne hadn't really gone out of her way to dress up too much. Her hair was curled in it's usual style and she had on a simple dress and a jacket. Pansy probably wouldn't be that into the whole leather thing, but that was pretty much just what Daphne wore, so she was fine with it. Maybe Lavender would get to win something after al. Walking into the ballroom, she spotted her friend almost immediately, giving her a quick smile as she made her way over to her. "Pansy! You look amazing! Are you sure you're not allowed to win best dressed?"
