Roger had already had a brilliant day. They'd had a great match, and Lavender had surprised him by showing up for the game, and bringing Julie along with her. They'd spent the afternoon at the carnival, and Julie was absolutely adorable. He could understand why Lavender was so in love with her- a few hours and the little girl had already wrapped Roger tightly around her tiny fingers.
Roger made his way into the ballroom for the evening's festivities, glancing around to see if Lavender was already there. Since, technically she was his date for the evening. It unnerved him a little at how domestic they were getting. A week in France, an afternoon with Julie. A night showing her off. He wasn't quite sure what they were- and he wasn't going to broach the question and ruin it. But it was certainly more than just a drunken night. More than he'd expected.
Roger found Lavender and pressed a kiss to her cheek. "You look beautiful," he said, glad she was letting her scars show. Now that he'd gotten used to them, he preferred her that way. They were part of her, and didn't need to be covered up.
