Who: Pansy Parkinson and Jason Dorny When Wednesday evening Where: The Citizen’s League for the Betterment of Society monthly meeting. Haha. What: Two socially ambitious people? We’ll see. Rated/Status: TBD, incomplete.
Pansy made it her personal goal to be a part of any social group that was elite and influential, and the Citizen’s League for the Betterment of Society was exactly that. Simply called “The League” by anyone important, it required that one be affluent enough to support various charity causes, along with a significant amount of hours contributed to charitable work, so it was fairly exclusive. The League wasn’t a charity itself, but raised funds and held events to raise funds for other charities.
Their monthly meeting had taken place earlier this evening, determining the summer budget (in which Pansy had argued particularly vehemently about additional support for the orphanage in Diagon) and now the group had broken into smaller subcommittees to discuss different projects. Pansy’s group was discussing the fashion show at the Quidditch Charity Galal this weekend, going over notes and a few sketches. The models were all arranged- Astoria had been a dear to volunteer- the outfits were being altered, and a few more volunteers had been recruited to help at the event itself. Pansy was sure it would go off perfectly.
Dinah, growing a bit bored with Pansy’s obsession with every last detail, glanced up from the table and grinned. “Did you see Dorny tonight?”
“Who?” Pansy asked and glanced up, annoyed with the interruption.
“Jason Dorny,” Dinah repeated, annoyed herself. “Maybe he’s not good enough for you to notice, Parkinson, but I have.”
Pansy frowned slightly and straightened from where she’d been bent across the table. She considered Dorny from across the room. Of course she knew him, they ran in all the same circles. But she’d never really stopped to notice him. Dinah had a point, he was good-looking. And he certainly knew how to work a room. As if he could sense them staring, he glanced over, and Dinah and the other girls quickly looked away, giggling. Pansy rolled her eyes at them briefly, but turned her gaze back to him. She tilted her head, eying Jason a moment longer, then smirked and turned back to her notes.
