Yes, I based his stats of a combination of Roy Halladay and John Smoltz, which actually hurts my head to type that out loud. Of course if he had the length of career that either has had (will have) he would lose a -lot- of that speed in favour of keeping his control. Which is what will happen to Strasberg, we have to figure. He can't throw that fastball for every pitch, he shouldn't throw more than one in a row because of how much effort that takes even when he isn't reaching back for 105. And besides the fact that -no one- can be perfectly located at that speed, you can just hope for some swings. If that's all he threw, hitters would just wait to be walked. He would rather throw his curve anyway, which is where his location is and how he picks his spots. That's his reliable pitch. (And he can't bunt. He's AL, you'll have to forgive him that.)
I was originally a Red Sox fan, but I was converted after watching a couple Yankees games (Andy Pettitte). My best friend was raised in a mix Sox/Yankees household and she converted with me. And then the Red Sox did what they did last off season and I felt so much better about having switched teams. I am from MA so I get a ton of teasing for that. But it's okay, I'm in love with my team.
Your Diamondbacks have one of my favourite middle infields. I loved Kelly Johnson when he was a Brave and I was really sad to see him go, but he has done so much better with Stephen Drew than he did with any of our infielders, so I'm glad for him.
Before the Dodgers' Mommy and Daddy decided to try to split the baby, they were already running that team into the ground. One of my favourite pitchers, Clayton Kershaw, is being wasted on that team with no catcher to speak for. I used to love that team, I still love a lot of their players, but... I just can't stand it anymore.
And I think I will now always think of the Phillies as a brothel.
