Hi, we're going to get along wonderfully. I was so nervous I'd be the only baseball fan around here, but I took a risk and made him. I am so happy to see this reply!
And that stuff does matter! His career ERA is 3.04, which pisses him off to be honest, because he had fully intended to get it under three in KC, but yeah, that didn't work so well. Career 96 home runs allowed, never broke 20 in a season. Career WHIP is 1.18, which he is quite proud of. If he's walked more than one in a game, that's a bad game for him.
And truth be told KC couldn't afford him or the players they had to give up to get him, but it was a calculated risk that he could carry the team with what they had left. They've been in the basement so long they needed a drastic change and he was it. (He was not pleased about being traded, to be honest, but never told the press that.) He very well may have been able to save the team if he was given a chance.
He has three hard working pitches and two he plays with. He prefers his curve, which has a very late break. His fastball is hard and fast and almost unhittable. His changeup is a finishing pitch and he's come to like it more than he used to. He has a slider and a cutter, but was never completely comfortable with either, and only threw them when his catcher made him.
*coughs* Yes, I am a real baseball geek. I totally had fun typing that all up.
