That the woman had the nerve to get annoyed at his interference confused and irritated him. There was no way that she could be serious about that. "Well, I ain't gonna walk by a guy hittin' a woman an' not do anythin' 'bout it." he growled. If she was crazy enough to want to brawl with the big guys, her problem. But not when he was around. He wasn't exactly on top of the food chain when it came to morals, but even he considered that pretty low.
Then he heard her say her name and turned around to really look at her. Well, that did change just about everything. He should have known it was her. They hadn't seen each other often and never for long, but long enough to get a good idea about her personality. "Recently got reacquainted with my fightin' skills. Seems like I'm developin' a new hobby." And it didn't worry him because he knew that he wouldn't stay much longer, otherwise he might get into a lot of trouble. Two guards in less than a week, that was quite something. "'s not like I'm here that often, but they shouldn't walk around like they owned the place anyway. They're here to protect the people, not do whatever they please." Even that might have been too much and he reminded himself to watch what he said, she was one of them after all.
