There was a lot that could be figured out just by watching this group fight. From the way that the Frenchman took momentary advantages to check on the other two in the room, he was something of a leader. The woman was some kind of military woman; Ataxia wasn't sure if it was the bloodthirsty way she seemed to fight or the skill with which she did so that told him. But it was something. And it made the "take them alive" plan even more appealing. The wicked smile on his face grew a little bit more as he watched the battle take place for another moment or so.
"Oh, Tallis is perfectly capable of taking care of herself, don't you worry your pretty little head, darling," he said to the woman in a sickly sweet voice.
It was actually working somewhat perfectly. Ataxia watched for a moment as Soren knocked one of the Frenchman's knives out of his hand and threw him off-guard. But the man didn't falter. Instead, he grabbed a significantly smaller survival knife from his hip and resumed his stance. Resourceful, and probably vaguely fearless, especially if he was facing three completely armed men, now with half of what he was used to. This was perfect.
And then there was the third member of this merry band of fools. Ataxia would be lying if he said he wasn't looking forward to this. There wasn't much in the world that was better than fighting with someone who hated you, who wanted you dead. It made the inevitable win that much sweeter. And if Ataxia could turn that rage around? Face it toward the people who had sent them here? Well, he'd have to be a fool to turn that sort of weapon down.
"Don't you worry. Any of you. When we're through here, I will have cozy, comfortable positions for you among my ranks. Assuming you survive the bite test, anyway. You must understand, we can't have the unworthy among us."
A little laugh at the man's retort was the only response Ataxia gave as he gathered his knife from his belt and held it out in a defensible position. "Recognize this?" he asked Prince Charming with a nod toward his knife. "I never thought I would say this, but I'm almost glad it didn't complete its mission last time. We wouldn't be having this nice little chat today if it didn't, would we?"
Ataxia was never a fan of making the first move, so instead, he stayed in his defensible position, and attempted to goad Prince Charming into striking first. Likely not a very difficult task. "So, how's Liberty's princess? Recovering from daddy's 'disappearance?'" he asked casually. "I would hate to split up such a happy couple, so maybe once we're through here, I'll send a search crew out for her."
