It was lucky that Charlie had promised Elliot the kill, because hearing that bastard's words made her skin crawl and her blood boil. The sheer gall of his assumption that they would join up with him aside, administering a 'bite test'? She could figure what that meant: everyone here had been forced into a zombie bite. The thought was horrifying to her, after what had happened to her brother, but it just made her rage all the more potent. Besides, only one person in the world was allowed to call her darling, and this asshole was about the furthest thing from him.
She tamped down the feeling of fear that came along with thoughts of Rodeo. If she let herself focus too long on that, on wondering if he was alive or dead just outside, she'd lose her focus and wind up dead. Instead, she let that fear fuel her anger. That they were even in this situation was the fault of those fucking psychopaths, and even if she might regret it later, she wanted each and every one of them dead.
"You're pretty fucking sick if you think we're gonna be taking orders from you, asshole," she snarled over her shoulder from behind the tipped-up table she was using as cover. A few quick shots and the second guard that had flanked her was preoccupied with bleeding out onto the floor. Now Charlie just had to keep this Tallis distracted. She was busy formulating the best way to get a shot in when she heard the other woman speak.
"Let's do this like real women."
Charlie raised an eyebrow at the statement, before she shrugged in acquiescence, her lips curling into a bloodthirsty sneer. This was going to be fun. She was itching to get away from the clean, effortless kills bullets provided. She wanted to get her hands dirty, to vent her anger by beating someone's face in. Unfortunately, there hadn't really been the chance. Evan and Eli had needed cover fire. Now? Not so much.
The cult-leader's bitch probably thought she had an advantage-- Tallis was at least eight inches taller, true, but Charlie would bet her ass that she could outmaneuver the psychopath's henchman. "You dumb bitch," Charlie chuckled humorlessly, before charging the taller woman, tackling her with the force of a small, enraged freight train.
