Elliot grunted at the impact against his jaw, taking an involuntary step back. The blow hadn't hurt so much as took him off guard. Who knew faeries would be so violent? Or maybe it was just this one. Whatever the case, it took him a few moments to regain his composure, and by then the faerie was spouting off an apology.
"Thought I was that dick hunter?" He asked, jerking his head toward one of the grimy windows to indicate the direction of the hunter. He shook his head. "Nah. That guy needs to work on his technique. He's a couple buildings over and I can still hear him stomping around. Either that, or he just doesn't care that he's being loud." Definitely one of the more intimidating hunters he'd encountered, although he wasn't about to admit that part to this faerie.
Relaxing against one of the pillars supporting the basement's roof, Elliot offered the faerie a little grin and shook his head. "No need to rush off, faerie. Not unless you want the hunter to get you. Pretty sure he'll be making his rounds back this way soon. Safer for you if you stay put."
Elliot straightened up, then, and moved to walk around the faerie. Curious, he reached out and lightly drew his fingers over her wings. "Aren't you folk supposed to be better at hiding yourselves than this? That's probably why the hunter's after you, because you let yourself be seen."
