Laney scoffed. Before Ben was around, she didn't have to answer to anybody. It was a tough thing feeling like your independence was taken away, even if it wasn't intentional. "You do realize that you're not Mom?" She ran the sharpener quickly up her blade. It would be back to deadly in a few minutes. "I'm only letting you know as a courtesy to you. I'm going."
She rolled her eyes, thinking maybe acting like a child wouldn't exactly help her situation much. "Look," she started, backtracking. "I'm not guarding the quarantine. Just their shit. They're going to be at the quarantine, and my friend and I, we're just going to be guarding their beds while they're there. And all their stuff."
